A
brodie knob, or suicide knob, attaches to tyour car or truck's steering wheel. The
knob swivels, and is intended to make steering with one hand less
difficult. There are sometimes called necker knobs, since they allow steering with one hand while the driver wraps his
other arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. The steering wheel spinner knob was very useful on vehicles without power steering. Their main use today is for semi trucks.Wheel-spinners
are also used for helping people with disabilities, such as multiple
sclerosis, and people with only one hand, or arm to drive automobiles.
